Product Description

"It was all up there,"says Rock Hudson (Eric Farr) at the start of this rule-breaking, dizzying assortment of clips from Rock Hudson's Hollywood career, referring to this film's  conceit that there was always  a subversive and hidden homosexuality about  his roles, even  as he was performing for the great American public. This film showcases the supposed reel of gay and homoerotic scenes from Hudson's studio films that he apparently compiled for showing to his friends at parties.  In a playful  deconstruction of  the roles  Rock played, we can  see familiar material in whole new ways - its almost as if the closer  we look at Hudson's films, the more  we seem to  see the actor winking at us. This film sheds a new and provocative light on one of Hollywood's greatest legends and also showcases the diverse range of films he starred in from westerns and war movies to Douglas Sirk melodramas and the Doris Day/Tony Randell sex comedies.
