Armistead Maupin, much loved author of the "Tales of the City" series, has answered the prayers of his legion of fans, and written the eighth book in the series, Mary Ann in Autumn, which is due out in early November. This next installment finds Mary Ann in vastly different circumstances from how we last found her, and returning like a prodigal daughter to San Francisco.
