''I Do'' DVD
now in-store
at a special price!
I Do was one of the hits at this year's Sydney Mardi Gras Queer Screen Film Festival and we're very pleased to be able to offer this just released title at our very special price of $24.99 ($10 less than the recommended retail price)! This is an honest, charming film about a gay guy (handsome out and proud British actor, David W Ross) who is devoted to caring for his sister-in-law and niece. He's prepared to do what it takes to stay in the US for that, even marrying his best girl friend, but when he falls in love with Mano, his committments become hard to juggle... We also have a couple of new dvd releases recently seen on television : the absolutely hilarious Threesome, about what happens when a straight couple and their gay best friend try to put their partying ways behind them to raise a child together, and Please Like Me, starring gay Aussie comedian Josh Thomas.

In 1996, New York City drug dealer and "club kid" Angel Melendez was bludgeoned, injected with Drano, dismembered, and tossed into the river. James St. James was there when the killer, Michael Alig, flamboyant King of the Club Kids,  confessed, but before that, there were the clubs, the parties, the drugs, and the many fabulous (and some not so fabulous) outfits. Party Monster (originally titled Disco Bloodbath, but renamed after the film version starring Macauley Caulkin) is "celebutante" St. James's story, equal parts confession and attempt at closure. St. James is a drug-addled clubster who wears a wedding dress out on the town and invokes Judy Garland as he talks about the post-Warhol 80s New York party scene in which he and Melendez immersed themselves before the murder. His story, despite its gruesome subject matter and frequent, shocking lucidity, has a chatty and anecdotal quality that's compelling, endearing, and unrelentingly human.
