This is an honest, charming film about a gay guy (handsome out and proud British actor, David W Ross) who is devoted to caring for his sister-in-law and niece. He's prepared to do what it takes to stay in the US for that, even marrying his best girl friend, but when he falls in love with Mano, his committments become hard to juggle... We also have a couple of new dvd releases recently seen on television : the absolutely hilarious Threesome, about what happens when a straight couple and their gay best friend try to put their partying ways behind them to raise a child together, and Please Like Me, starring gay Aussie comedian Josh Thomas.

This gay Australian film from 1994 is certain to enjoy renewed interest, as it features Oscar winner and Hollywood stud Russell Crowe in a gay role. It's the story of Harry (Jack Thompson) and his gay son Jeff (Crowe) who are both searching for love and sharing an unconventional bond. Harry is the caring and open-minded 'mate' who borders on being an annoyance, especially as he likes to offer unwanted guidance as Jeff searches for a suitable bloke. This has just been reissued after being unavailable for some time.
