A few months after the death of his wife, Joe Morris, an affable, eccentric, bridge-obsessed octogenarian, decides he wants a replacement. He got a new hip - why not a new wife? His gay son Bob finds himself trolling the personals, screening prospects, and offering etiquette tips, chaperoning services, and post-date assessments to his needy father. But finding a new mate is not easy: one date is too morose, another too liberal, and one's a three-timer. Meanwhile, Bob suffers similar frustrations in his own dating life: no one seems to want a middle-aged gay man with an attitude and a paunch.
