"Ian is my first book focusing on one man. It was photographed over two summers, a year apart, in between Covid lockdowns in Australia.

The first part of the book centres around Ian's lifestyle of travelling and living in a 1978 Bedford van, which he largely rebuilt.

The second part is photographed in an industrial farm environment in the Australian outback where Ian, a mechanic, is just as at home with the property's vehicles and machinery as in his van by the beach.

It became clear to me  from the results of our work together that Ian was the right muse for a solo book,  and after all the difficulty of shooting over the last two years, now felt like the right time to face this new artistic challenge. Ian is a real-life journeyman and we had captured many photogenic aspects of his life . I think you will agree and enjoy this unique collection of photographs of this exceptional man." Paul Freeman
