Shipping & Returns


We offer FREE SHIPPING for orders in Australia over $75 - please select this option when choosing postage options. (Please note that this is dependent on all the items being in stock. If this is not possible we will endeavour to consolidate your items to save you on postage, and will contact you regarding holding or splitting your order).

Most orders we receive will be posted within 48 hours.

The Bookshop Darlingurst aims to fill your orders as quickly as possible, however, over the years we have learnt that it is impossible to have all titles in stock at all times. If any of the items you requested are temporarily out of stock we will contact you to inform you of the expected delay.

All parcels are discreetly packaged for your privacy.

Please note that delivery times are as quoted by Australia Post and may take longer owing to matters beyond our control.


Postage is automatically calculated using Australia Post rates (as determined by their website, which is linked to our server), and is according to the weight and destination postcode of your order.


Our Express Post service can save you time and money especially if you’ve ordered multiple items. Up to 3kg can be sent anywhere in Australia for $15 with next day delivery guaranteed for most metropolitan postcodes. This service depends on availability of all items and whether those items will fit into the Australia Post satchel. If you select this option, we will contact you if for any reason Express Post will not work for your order.


This is available for regular parcels delivered within Australia, and is recommended. A signature will be required by the addressee.


Postage charges for destinations outside Australia are automatically determined using the Australia Post website's postage calculator, and are for regular Airmail service.


We will replace or exchange items provided:

- there is a valid reason for exchanging the item
- the item is in mint condition
- you have the relevant receipt
- you return the item within 14 days or advise us of the problem within the time frame

Refunds will only be made on faulty goods that we cannot immediately replace with a good copy of the same item. We will require a return of the item before we can make replacements/exchanges. You will be credited with your return postage in these instances.

Exchanges are not permitted on magazines, travel guides, DVDs which have been removed from their plastic wrapping, or sale items.

Please make your selection carefully as we cannot accept the return of an item if you have simply changed your mind.
