Transgendered musician Rae Spoon's first book is a fictionalised account of growing up queer in a strict Pentecostal family in rural Canada. As their father's schizophrenia causes their parents' marriage to unravel, Rae finds solace in her growing feelings for a girl at school. This book was a finalist for the Lambda Literary Awards 2013 in the category of Transgender Fiction.
